“What should we do tomorrow?”

“Disneyland or San Fran” we chose the latter.

Fortunately we had a couch to crash on in San Fran {shout out to Sacha & Cody! We love you!!} otherwise this spontaneous 2 day adventure would not have happened. It was about time us sisters took a trip to see our brother’s new place. I scream on the inside when I say “I visited my brother in San Fran.” It is just so weird to me, come home Codddyyyyy your twin misses you! Our time spent up north was short lived but I’m glad we lived it. Once we landed we were picked up by the tomato {Sacha’s car} with two very special people inside. They showed us the ropes of San Fran, did I mention they live next to the beach and the zoo?? Jealous. We toured the city, saw the sights and spent some good old fashion quality time together. On our last day we ate yummy food at La Boulange, drank some yummy boba, and went to explore on Haight & Ashbury {Sacha and I scored the best deal on boots 2 for $24! We were excited}. The weather took a turn for the worst so we went back home to watch a movie, eat some lunch, {on the menu: Chicken nuggets with Soda pop} and then played an intense game of Egyptian Rat Slap before our flight. Thanks again Sacha & Cody for giving us a slice of your new San Fran life! We’ll be back soon and we’ll be better at Egyptian Rat Slap…

A Letter to My Sister On Her Birthday.

Today is your birthday which means two things… 1) you are no longer covered by Dad’s dental insurance  2) there is a 10 year age gap between you and Ryan Gosling (go get him girl.) Both facts are true but what I really wanted to tell you is how much I love you. Regardless of the fact that I once made the mistake of calling you my roommate (even though when someone lives with each other that is what they are called) you are so much more than that. You are the person I admire most,  my strength for when I am weak, and my comfort for when I feel lost. As your little sister it is my duty to remind you of what a great job you are doing in life. I am so proud of the woman you have become and all that you’ve accomplished, you have been the perfect example of a big sister so I’ve made a list of all the reasons why I love you.

  • I love when you squeeze my arm and stomp your feet while clenching your teeth for no reason but “because I love you”.
  • I love that any chance you get you try to scare me because I deserve some payback.
  • I love that you ask me to help you get ready. To me it’s a way I can help since you do so much for me. (Sorry I’m a lousy cook)
  • I love your fascination with movies. You can spend hours in a movie store like everything is new and your seeing it for the first time, even if we were there the day before.
  • I love that when you take a picture and it doesn’t turn out, you’re genuinely sorry.
  • I love that every time I go to brush my hair I know I’ll find the brush on the nightstand rather than in the bathroom.
  • I love that you always offer to drive b/c you know that driving scares me.
  • I love that you force your cuddling on me b/c you know it will make me feel better… no matter how hard I try to push you off.
  • I love that you help me in the mornings b/c I’m normally running late and you make a mean cup of joe.
  • I love that you always think the best of people.
  • I love that you know me better than I know myself.
  • I love that I can call you MY sister.

This could go on forever. I hope you have an amazing Birthday, I love you with all my heart.

Throwback Thursday!

Today is Thursday and we all know what that means. It’s time for photos of the past to resurface and why shouldn’t they?! Sometimes the past is where we’d rather be. In honor of our first Throwback Thursday on the 22&20 blog, we are throwing it back to Greece,Turkey, Italy, and Paris. This past year we were lucky enough to travel to these amazing places, experience their culture, eat their food, and ride their donkeys. We hope everyone is having a great throwback and embracing their past, we know we are!

Are You In the Band? “No”

are you with the band?

Creative differences, secret love affair, or following your dream to be a wizard…we don’t know why bands breakup, we have no idea what it takes to be in a band but we have a list of musicians that we are glad went solo. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and if that means you gotta march to the beat of your own drum (literally and figuritavely) then DO IT! Imagine this, the M. Sisters in a band (dibs on the tambourine {Kenzie}) we would be the BEST BAND EVER (most definitely not). There would be some serious head banging, killer dance routines, and a lot of saxophone solos. Sounds awesome, am I right??? For business inquiries you are free to email us. Hope everyone is having an awesome #MusicMonday! ROCK ON PEOPLE!!

Happy Birthday Mom.

“Mom, why don’t you be a professional singer?” I remember asking my mom this. Every night before bed, I listened to my mom sing to us. Song after song she would sing, waiting patiently for her kids to stop tossing and turning. I was sure my mom had the most beautiful voice in the world so why didn’t she sing for other people, why did she only sing for us? Now I understand, she’s our Mom. She sings to comfort her children, fight off their nightmares, and share the love in her heart. Her lullabies are something us kids will cherish forever. Aside from the sweet words she used to sing, now we are normally serenaded with song choices from Ed Sheeran, T- Pain, half of the top 100 pop songs, and some songs she just makes up on the spot. We love you Mom, keep on being the rockstar we all know you to be.

The Holidays: Part 1

It has been a looonng time since we’ve had the gang back together in Sedona. Last year was a really busy holiday season for all of us, so it was nice to spend some time in Sedona with no agendas, alarms or noisy neighbors (have I mentioned Courtney & I live below gorillas? well we do.) Cody was able to join us for a bit before his move to San Fran with his girlfriend and I’m so glad he did, we miss our brother… a lot.  We hope everyone is enjoying the New Year!

We love our mornings with the doggies. It is our favorite way to wake up.

Christmas in Sedona

We spent part of our holiday season at our Aunt and Uncle’s home in Sedona and what can we say? WE LOVE SEDONA!  In 2006 they bought the Wings of the Wind house (does anyone else feel like Pocahontas when they say that?) and have been working on it ever since. This house was previously owned by Helen and Jack Frye a great bit of history that this home entails. Sedona is a place where we go to escape our busy city of Los Angeles, and what an escape it is. For us Sedona means you leave your cell reception at the main road, you dress to NOT impress, and you prepare to get your ass beat at mexican train dominoes . We are grateful to be a part of the history in this home, creating new memories with each visit and many more with our kids and our kid’s kids and our kid’s kid’s kids. (We plan on living forever) Sedona will always be our home away from home.
